For this project it started out on setting out to design a project that was one off and different than everything else out there. So, the customer decided than he wanted an E36 M3. We found this particular M3 to begin our project with. This is a 1997 BMW M3 3.2L 4 door, the color is byzanz a very rare color option only available in 1997 and only very few were produced, this particular one was automatic, which is not something we would leave in there for long. To begin the project we set out to order everything needed to convert the Auto transmission to manual. ZF Manual transmission, brackets, lines, driveshaft, flanges and the list goes on. Next on the list was an Active Autowerke level 3 Twin screw supercharger kit. The kit included the supercharger, autocad designed intake manifold, all the hoses and hardware needed for installation, level 3 pulley, water to air intercooler setup, water/alcohol injection system, and software. When converting to manual we also decided to opt with an active turbo clutch package including high performance clutch kit and pressure plate and lightweight flywheel. We changed out any worn bushings in the suspension and installed a Bilstein PSS9 Coilover suspension and bolted on other necessary upgrades to help this M3 handle the over 50% power increase from 240hp to 455hp. To watch over everything we installed a custom made guage cluster that takes place of your sunglass holder and houses 3 guages. 2 guages were SPA technique over/under digital guage set up. We went with a boost press/fuel press and oil press/water temp and for the last guage we installed a autometer a/f to insure the car kept a proper mixture.
